Video gaming is one of the largest industries in the world, and is changing and expanding every day. Competitive gaming, called esports, has been rapidly growing as its own part of the entertainment industry. How do those who are not on a competitive level still make money by playing video games? It is done by millions every day from their own homes.
One of those streamers is Melissa, or known better by her community as NuFo. Melissa has embossed a large following on social media, and has become a popular female gamer that attends conventions, sells merchandise, and possesses sponsorships asa part of a professional gaming organization, Team Kaliber. I will be examining the world of esports and streaming communities, and creating a social media strategy for Melissa to create a following on YouTube. By establishing this channel, and promoting it with her Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, and Snapchat channels, Melissa will be able to follow a popular and successful trend in the streaming community. By expanding to YouTube, NuFo will become a more interactive and personalized brand.
